In 2009, I established Research Foundation for Governance in India (RFGI). RFGI is a think-tank that aims to research, promote, and implement various reforms to improve the legal processes. The Foundation conducts research on key issues in law and governance and hosts public events in order to raise awareness, particularly among the youth who are often disengaged from the democratic process. RFGI also acts as a consultant in the implementation and development of Government reforms. The Foundation is a non-party, neutral and independent Foundation and does not support or endorse any political candidate/party or extreme political ideology.
Lawtoons
Along with my sister Kelly Dhru, in 2014, I developed one of its kind comic series for children called Lawtoons. Consisting illustrated stories on the important laws of India, Lawtoons made them easier to understand and fun to learn. We worked with a team of comic artists and lawyers to develop comics. The books have been published with Vani Prakashans, a highly reputed publisher of India.
Lawtoons has been twice successfully crowdfunded. We are also thrilled to have worked with clients including governmental and civic bodies on developing comic book simplifying different laws.
LawForMe
In 2015, I created Lawforme – a web-platform simplifying everyday laws through design and technology. Lawforme raised Rs. 3.2 million as part of the HiiL Innovating Justice Challenge in the Netherlands. I put together and headed a team of designers, web-developers and lawyers. The platform aimed to be the go-to law simplifying tool for today’s India and to make the law and legal processes accessible to all citizens through the innovative use of design and technology..
